WINTER IN GLENCOE |

ASSYNT

Join us for our Assynt Landscape Photography Workshop, an intimate and personalized 7-day workshop based in the village of Lochinver in the Scottish Highlands!

Are you ready to take your landscape photography to the next level?

Join us for a week of photography and adventure, as we explore the stunning landscape of Assynt and learn the skills and techniques needed to capture breathtaking images of the natural world. Chris & John will provide personalized attention and instruction, with a maximum of only 4 guests on the workshop, ensuring that you get the one-on-one attention you need to succeed.

During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to photograph some of the most iconic and breathtaking landscapes in Scotland, including the Assynt Mountains, Suilven, Canisp, and the rugged coastline of the Atlantic Ocean. We will also explore and shoot new and fresh scenes we come upon while out & about .

You will learn about composition, lighting, and other technical aspects of landscape photography, as well as tips for editing and post-processing your images.

In the evenings, you will have the chance to relax and unwind in our comfortable accommodation in Lochinver, chatting with your fellow photographers and maybe even enjoying a dram of whisky (because let's be honest, what's a trip to Scotland without a little whisky?).

Some of the specific skills and techniques that participants might learn during this 8-day workshop include:

  • Composition: How to compose your images for maximum impact and beauty, including the use of leading lines, framing, and the rule of thirds

  • Lighting: How to use natural light and artificial light to create stunning images, including the use of golden hour and blue hour

  • Exposure: How to properly expose your images for the best results, including the use of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO

  • White balance: How to adjust white balance for accurate color reproduction

  • Lenses: How to choose the right lens for the shot you want to capture, including wide angle, telephoto, and prime lenses

  • Focusing: How to focus your images for sharpness and clarity, including the use of autofocus and manual focus

  • Filters: How to use filters to enhance your images and control light, including polarizing filters and ND filters

  • Editing: How to edit and post-process your images using software such as Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop, including the use of raw files, basic adjustments, and advanced techniques

In addition to the technical aspects of landscape photography, this workshop will also focus on the creative process, helping you to find your own voice and vision as a photographer. You'll learn how to see the world in a new way and capture its beauty through your lens.

Throughout the workshop, you'll also have the opportunity to receive personalized feedback on your work through critique and review sessions. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics of landscape photography or an advanced photographer looking to take your skills to the next level, this workshop has something for everyone.
