YORKSHIRE DALES IN A DAY

Limestone pavement with iconic steam trains

Join acclaimed landscape photographer John Finney for a series of one-day workshops in the stunning Yorkshire Dales.

The Yorkshire Dales is home to some of the most spectacular limestone landscapes anywhere in the world.  Natural surface exposures of limestone provide conditions for some very characteristic communities of plants, mosses, and lichens that are a perfect foreground to the Yorkshire Dales's hugely varied landscape and numerous dramatic features and beautiful views.

I will lead a series of photography workshops focused on composition, foreground details, and capturing the depth of landscapes, including their subjects. The workshops will be from summer to autumn on specific Tuesdays and Thursdays based on the dates of the steam trains that pass through this stunning landscape.

This will be a relaxed workshop with the possibility of capturing some iconic images and learning about focus stacking, bracketing, and compositional techniques.

Following the shoot, we can unwind in a local public house where we'll review the images taken, and I can show the workflow of techniques using Adobe software to produce the finished images from the RAWs you have taken.

All levels of photography and physical ability are catered for, but there may be a little walking involved across uneven and sometimes wet and muddy terrain.
