John started taking pictures back in the late 1980s with a film camera and then switched his focus to competitive mountain biking where he won many trophies & tournaments & was ranked no.1 in the UK, it wasn’t until late 2005 that John picked up a camera again. But this same desire to absorb knowledge and be the best you can be in biking has now been replaced with Photography, with John winning the classic category of Landscape Photographer of the year in 2018/19 and there no better photographers working today who will not just teach you about all aspects of photography but will give you insight to reading the conditions & weather and how to make sure you’re in the right place at the right time to maximise your chances of getting that killer shot. John is also a guide for Weather Holidays, a UK-based company running storm chasing trips to the US every year teaching you how to shoot storms the likes of which you’ve never experienced before. Tornados, Supercell cloud structures, and huge lightning storms are all possibilities to be photographed. John is a veteran of a decade’s worth of trips to the US chasing this unique phenomenon. John’s passion & thirst for photography doesn’t end once the shot has been taken either, and he is continuously learning, practising & developing his unique methods to process images.
